Just pull up for Hip Hop, Wine, & Chill and a full table of games ready to go—Cranium, The Game of Things, Cards Against Humanity, Telestrations, 5 Second Rule, Sequence, Rummikub, Skip-Bo, Dominos, Catan, Forbidden Island, Qwixx, Scrabble, Dragonwood, Quiddler, Bananagrams, Poker, Skyjo, Uno, playing cards, Anomia, Spot It, Exploding Kittens, and Mille Bornes. Bring your own games or jump into ours, stay for a round or stay all night—it’s open format, your pace. Chef Earl Fredericks is back in the kitchen, doing what he does best.

Chef has been part of The Crick since the early days, long before we even had a kitchen to call our own. Back then it was a summer BBQ on the patio, a portable stovetop, and a rice cooker making it all happen. No matter the setup, Chef always came through and made it work.

His résumé runs deep. From cooking with global brands like Nike and Disney Cruise Lines to becoming the first Black tenured professor and Culinary Director at Clark College, Chef Earl has spent a lifetime shaping kitchens, students, and experiences.

At The Crick, we are proud to share the stage with an OG who has been part of the foundation from the very beginning. When Chef Earl is cooking, you already know something good is about to land on the table.

Join us for an intimate first look at the Enat Kitchen Residency at The Crick. This soft opening is where we dial in the menu, test new dishes, and gather in a smaller setting that still delivers in every way. Menbe Egigu, owner and chef of Enat Ethiopian Kitchen, will be in the kitchen preparing a selection of her incredible Ethiopian dishes. Enat means “mother,” and this experience reflects exactly that—warm, intentional, and rooted in care. For those west of Portland, this marks the beginning of something special. Come taste culture, community, and what Mom’s Kitchen feels like.

For this opening night at The Crick, expect a curated dinner experience that reflects how we move, intimate, intentional, and designed to bring people together. This marks the beginning of the Enat Kitchen Residency.
